2022-2 Recruitment Announcement for Researcher Position at the IBS Center for Genome Engineering

The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) is Korea’s first government-funded basic science research institute established under Article 14 of the Special Act on Establishment of and Support for International Science and Business Belt. IBS aims to discover creative knowledge and technologies through world-class basic science research.

Center for Genome Engineering is one of the first centers established by Institute for Basic Science. The center is directed by Dr. Jin-Soo Kim and located at IBS Headquarters(Daejeon). The research of the center focuses on in vivo an in vitro genetic engineering utilizing adult stem cell-based organoids and mouse models. The selected candidate will be working in the team of Dr Bon-Kyoung Koo, whose research topics are described in his current institute:

Plant research team of Center for Genome Engineering also will continue our efforts to expand editing technologies in various plants and to develop value-added crops.

Relevance to the recruitment area, excellence of research achievements, originality&creativity of research plan, etc. Five times the number of candidates than open positions will be selected to continue to the next stage. Applicants with the highest average scores will be selected (minimum average score: 80). - CV and list of research achievements

Step 2
(Interview screening)
Expertise in the recruitment area, presentation skills and attitude, potential for development, etc. Select the final candidate(s) with the highest average scores within the number of openings (minimum average score: 80). Other documents will be stated in a separate notification for applicants who pass document screening
  • ※ In the event that the final candidate cannot be appointed due to abandonment of appointment or reasons for disqualification, etc., the preliminary candidate may be determined within twice the number of expected openings, and appointments may be made according to the preliminary candidate order.
  • ※ Interview screening may be conducted via video interview.

□ Other Information

  • - Blind hiring process will be implemented to reduce the risk of bias in the hiring decision and block out any and all identification details from candidate's resume and applications.
