Studying the neural mechanism for controlling consciousness and unconsciousness 2. Studying the neural mechanism of glycosylation-related cognition, emotion, and sociality 3. Studying the kinetic mechanism of brain activities of humans and other primates 4. Studying the molecular and cellular functions involving learning, memory, cognition, and sociality by optogenetics and bio-imaging technology [Cognitive Glioscience Group] Investigating the functions and molecular mechanism of astrocytes involving cognitive functions and brain disorders 1. Studying the molecular and cellular mechanism of astrocytes 2. Studying the mechanism of gliotransmitter release from astrocytes and interactions with neurons 3. Studying the astrocytic volume change and plasticity of astrocytes 4. Studying the impact and mechanism of astrocytes involving neuro- and cognitive degeneration
