"2017 IBS Art in Science"
The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) will hold the 3rd Art in Science, an exhibition converging these two fields, at the National Science Museum from November 29 to December 25. Art in Science presents images that IBS researchers generated while conducting research. Last year, IBS collaborated with the Daejeon Museum of Art to embellish science with an artistic touch. This year, we are adding changes by working together with the National Science Museum, the mecca of scientific exhibition in Korea. The images handpicked or engendered by researchers will take you on an incredible ride. Through the journey, you will find and appreciate aesthetic value, discover the wonder of nature, learn something new, and get food for thought. Each one of the 32 pieces, submitted by 40 researchers, has its own unique story. At this year’s Art in Science, you can enjoy other exhibitions as well: Scientific Illustration Contest by the National Institute of Biological Resources and Astronomy Photo Contest by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute. At the exhibition, visitors can vote for the most impressive work. Online voting is also possible until the end of the exhibition. In addition, the researchers who submitted art pieces will share their stories at the event.
