2023-2 Recruitment Announcement for Senior researcher position at the Center for Theoretical Physics of the UniverseThe Particle Theory and Cosmology Group (PTC) of the Center for Theoretical Physics of the Universe (CTPU) (http://ctpu.ibs.re.kr) at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) (http://www.ibs.re.kr), South Korea, invites applications for several postdoctoral positions in theoretical high energy physics, including particle physics beyond the Standard Model, cosmology, astroparticle physics, and string theory as well as its phenomenological applications. Candidates with interests either in string phenomenology or in applying quantum computing and machine learning techniques to high energy physics, are particularly encouraged to apply. The positions can start any time in 2024. The initial appointment will be for 2 years and may be renewed for an additional year, subject to performance review and funding situation*. The CTPU-PTC group consists of 7 faculty members (Kiwoon Choi, Sanghyeon Chang, Jai-chan Hwang, Sang Hui Im, Tae Hyun Jung, Seung-Joo Lee, and Seokhoon Yun), 1 YSF fellow, and 12 postdoctoral fellows**. We also have affiliate faculty members (Jeong Han Kim, Myeonghun Park, Chang Sub Shin, Seodong Shin) who actively collaborate with our group members. The official language of the center is English. The research interests of our group cover broad areas of theoretical high energy physics and cosmology, including physics beyond the Standard Model, collider phenomenology, dark matter, cosmology of the early universe, large-scale structure of the universe, string compactifications and their phenomenological consequences. We collaborate with the Cosmology, Gravity and Astroparticle Physics Group (CGA) of the CTPU. We also have close relations with the experimental centers of the IBS: the Center for Axion and Precision Physics Research (CAPP), the Center for Underground Physics (CUP), and the Center for Exotic Nuclear Studies (CENS). Applications should include curriculum vitae, publication list, research statement, consent form to provide personal information (attached), and at least three letters of recommendation. For full consideration, application materials including letters should be submitted by December 29, 2023 midnight (KST) through Academic Jobs Online.(https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/26635) IBS job Board : https://www.ibs.re.kr/prog/recruit/eng/sub04_01/view.do?pageIndex=1&searchCondition=&searchKeyword=&idx=1673 * While an extension of 1 year is typically envisaged, researchers with exceptionally good performance may get a longer extension of up to 3 years. |
