2022-01 Recruitment Announcement for Research Positions at the IBS Center for Van der Waals Quantum Solids

Center for Van der Waals Quantum Solids, Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Pohang, South Korea, invites applications for research positions. The center is located at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) which is the world leading academic institute and surrounded by incredible resources for researchers including Pohang Synchrotron Radiation Facility (PAL) and Pohang X-ray free electron laser (PAL-XFEL).

We are seeking for a highly motivated candidate with scientific background and know-how in materials science and engineering, condensed matter physics, chemistry, and electrical engineering. Detailed research objectives and directions can be found in the webpage (http://dmpl.postech.ac.kr).

[Senior Research fellow] will be eligible to renew employment contract every two years until the Center’s Closure in case of passing a separate evaluation in the initial two-year employment contract.

[Senior researcher] will be eligible to renew employment contract once after the initial term and the total employment period is up to five years. Also, they may be promoted to a Senior Research Fellow through a separate evaluation.

[Researcher] will be eligible to renew employment contract once after the initial term and the total employment period is up to five years.

[Postdoctoral Research Associate] is a position to conduct concurrently training and research for a certain period of time to deepen his/her expertise and strengthen his/her exclusive ability and be appointed for a term of up to three years.
※ In case of the Center’s closure during employment, the employment contract will be terminated accordingly.
