2024-13 Recruitment Announcement for Postdoctoral Research Associate Position at the Center for Catalytic Hydrocarbon Functionalizations

Institute for Basic Science (IBS) is a national research institute established in accordance with Article 14 of the Special Act on Establishment of and Support for International Science and Business Belts. IBS aims to discover creative knowledge and secure original technologies through world-class basic science research.

The research focus of Center for Catalytic Hydrocarbon Functionalizations, led by Director Sukbok CHANG, is committed to the development of catalytic C-H functionalizations. The center aims to comprehend mechanistic details and explore practical applications in this field. The Center for Catalytic Hydrocarbon Functionalizations invites creative and dynamic candidates who will help us to achieve our goals.

  • • Must be in compliance with the requirements for appointments as specified in Article 33 of the State Public Officials Act and IBS statutes.
  • • If candidates are found to be former public officials dismissed for corruption as set forth in Article 82 of the Act on the Prevention of Corruption and the Establishment of the Anti-corruption and Civil Rights Commission, the job offer will be withdrawn.
  • • Must have no restrictions traveling overseas. Male applicants must have completed or be exempted from compulsory military service. (※ In the case of Technical Research Personnel who are undergoing alternative military service, the Center for Catalytic Hydrocarbon Functionalizations is the designated military service research center. However, applications are only accepted from individuals seeking a transfer.)

Contract (Postdoctoral Research Associate) A position to conduct research training and research for a certain period of time to deepen research expertise and abilities. Those who do not exceed 5 years after obtaining their doctoral degrees, or those who are expected to obtain their doctoral degree within 3 months by the time of appointment. Contract renewal after initial contract is available within total 3 years, if the performance review rating is more than the average score of 70.
